Yeah. Cause that’s why she hates magic so much and doesn’t want it around. Not cause she’s a total bitch. I mean, she can be. But it’s cause look what magic did to her. Made her feel like the freak, the outcast. She said everyone was overjoyed when Lily was revealed to be a witch. So where did that leave her? Home while her sister went off and learnt magic. Then magic took away that sister.
If you look at her behavior from this angle (not Vernon’s behavior, that a different story) then you realize. Why was Snape such a dick to Harry? Because he had Lily’s eyes. Imagine what that did to Lily. Her sister’s eyes looking at her for 17 years.
No imagine, what if she wasn’t JEALOUS of Lily. What if that came later, as a sort of way to deal with losing her sister. Not just her dying. Her sister went away to this magical school for seven years, and when she came back she was UNRECOGNIZABLE (frogs in her pockets, ect.).
PETUNIA DIDN’T WRITE THAT LETTER TO DUMBLEDORE BECAUSE SHE WAS JEALOUS SHE WROTE IT BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO BE WITH HER SISTER!
Then she prolly thought, after she left Hogwarts, she’d have her sister back home for a little bit, maybe get to know her better again. But NOPE SORRY HI I’M JAMES POTTER AND I’M
MARRYINGTAKING AWAY YOUR SISTER AGAIN!They probably had a fight after that, that consisted of Petunia being sad and feeling like she lost her sister and best friend, but not being able to express it so it came out like jealousy. Lily got mad and left. Petunia got married. They never made up.
THEN WITHOUT WARNING THINK ABOUT THIS! She got no call. No visit. No one TOLD HER HER SISTER WAS DEAD! There’s just this baby on her doorstep, who is now associated with the news that she will never make up with her sister. Her sister is dead. She will never see her again.
Not only is Harry mentally associated with that news, that horrible news that she will never speak with her sister again, but he is ALSO THE LAST THING OF HER SISTER SHE HAS LEFT! So she takes him in, but loving him hurts too much and as we know from what is said in the first chapter, if something hurts too much, Petunia locks it away and forgets about it. Harry prolly had mannerisms like Lily his whole life, from when he was a baby. But he looked like James, another reminder of the man that took her sister away to be killed.
WHY DID SHE NOT WANT HIM TO GO TO HOGWARTS THEN!?
Because she associates magic with loss. She loved Harry, because she loved Lily, and she was afraid, rightly so, that she would lose the last thing that she had of her sister. IF HARRY LEAVES, OR IF HARRY DIES, LILY IS COMPLETELY, 100 PERCENT GONE!
Re read these books thinking about that.
Petunia Dursley did everything she ever did because she loved her sister, and she was grieving for her. Her entire life, almost, she dealt with the loss of her sister in one way or another.
Magic takes things away, that’s what she has been taught. Now, it was taking her house, and her nephew. She knows hes gonna die, and the reason she doesn’t say goodbye there, is because it would be like saying goodbye to Lily, something she could never ever bring herself to do.
When Potterheads understand the books better than it was ever intended.

Every artist has their self doubt. Even the ones you hold in high regard. But you just have to make your art anyways. How else is it going to be made?
When your art is complete you’ll realize the self doubt was whispering alot of things in your ear, but it left out this important part: All the people that will hate on your art, don’t have art of their own to be proud of. And all the things they can say about it, what they can’t say is “mine is better” because they don’t have anything they created (other than hate), and you do. They can never undo your achievement.
So go make comics not excuses!
